Travel & Stay

Getting to the desert

Everything happens on the grounds of The Sands, so settle in and stay a while. Here is everything you need to make the trip easy.

Flying In

Fly into Palm Springs International (PSP), the closest and easiest airport — just minutes from the venue.

From New York, United flies nonstop from Newark (EWR) and Alaska flies nonstop from JFK. United also runs an early one-stop from LaGuardia (LGA) that lands the earliest of the three.

Our pick is the nonstop United flight from Newark — the simplest, smoothest way in.

Getting Around

No rental car needed. Everything for the weekend is right on the resort grounds.

Uber and Lyft run throughout the area for getting to and from the airport and around the property.

Where to Stay

We have reserved the entire Sands Hotel & Spa for our wedding weekend. The whole hotel is ours, so please book your room within our block right here on the property. You will wake up steps from the pool, the palms, and the party.

Reserving early helps us fill the hotel and keeps everyone together under one roof.

Want to make a trip of it? Midweek nights are roughly half the weekend rate — add them to the same reservation and extend your stay in the desert.

The Vibe

The Sands is a lovingly restored midcentury desert resort — private cabanas, palm-lined pools, and that pink-and-green Old Hollywood glamour set against the mountains. Expect golden afternoons by the water, cocktails in the shade of a striped umbrella, and a little retro romance around every corner.

One thing worth knowing: it gets cold once the sun goes down. February nights can dip into the 40s, so pack layers and a jacket for the evenings — you will want them for the ceremony under the palms and dancing after dark.
